Ethan Allen Tampa Selects Purnell Furniture Services
TAMPA, FL: Purnell Furniture Services Inc. announced today that it
has started providing ‘white glove’ home delivery services
for all of the Ethan Allen stores in the Tampa Bay area.
Historically, deliveries for all of the Tampa Bay area Ethan Allen design centers were done in-house. “It is a good business decision for us,” said Jeffrey Bloom, President of the Ethan Allen Design Centers of Tampa Bay. “As our business has grown in recent years, so have the demands of providing professional white glove home delivery service. We liked the fact that Purnell could take over this aspect of our business, retain our delivery teams, and focus on customer satisfaction in the area of home delivery. We selected them because of their 30 year reputation in the business as white glove delivery specialists.”

The Ethan Allen Tampa Bay Design Centers have a long history in Florida. Brothers Alfred and Howard Haubenstock founded the company back in the mid 1960’s as Carriage House, opening the first family store in Tampa. They were early adopters of the “gallery” concept of freestanding stores pioneered by Ethan Allen in the mid to late 60’s. They opened their first location in 1968, followed by Brandon in 1981, and then Citrus Park in 2001.
